Suck at beer pong? You’ve probably heard of the troll rule then. If you fail to hit a single cup in a game that your team loses then you must take your drink and sit under the table. The beer pong troll must stay under the table for the duration of the next game. Often the troll will disrupt the next game by grabbing player’s ankles or by making lots of noise. If both players on a team get skunked, they must both take a naked lap. Make sure you don’t strike out at the beer pong table or you’ll be spending a good amount of time under the table.

1. House Rules

Every house has their own beer pong rules, therefore the house makes the rules and settles disputes. It’s nice to have the rules displayed on a sign for players to see. You can also use a white board or chalk board to write and edit the rules. Having the house rules displayed settles a majority of arguments. If you are a bar that is hosting beer pong tournaments, you need to have a list of rules advertised. Trust us it’s worth it to write them down. Because each house has their own rules, game play is often different at various venues. Each house offers its own unique take on the game of beer pong.

Shot Pong

Ante up! Beer pong is getting an upgrade. If you thought beer pong got you bombed quick prepare yourself for shot pong, beer pong’s dangerous older brother. Now there a couple of different versions of shot pong floating around the net so here’s a quick rundown:

Simple Shot Pong

You’re going to need a wide table or separate place to keep your shot glasses. This simple version of the beer pong variation requires 12 plastic cups and 12 shot glasses. Fill each of the shot glasses to ~1/3. Now play pong as normal, but every time your opponent sinks a cups you must take the shot of the corresponding shot glass. Pull your solo cups as usual.

Beer Tab Shot Pong

Here is a another cool take. Beer tab shot pong uses beer tabs instead of pong balls. Set up a six cup rack of some uniform shot glasses and fill them to ~1/3 -1/2 with your favorite liquor. Beer tab shot pong works well on smaller table tops. These guys use 2 tabs a piece, if you do the same you’re sure to get tanked.

Rotating Shot Pong

Here’s a fun one and it’s a little less intense. To play start by setting up a 6 cup rack at one side of the table. This game requires four players but there are no teams. Each player sets up on a different side of the table. The person that is opposite the cups is the shooter. The shooter gets 3 shots per turn. For every shot the shooter makes, the person standing on the side of the cups must take 1/3 of a shot. Rotate after each turn.

Bitch cup is the center cup in the rack.

The ‘bitch cup’ is the cup in the dead center of the rack at the beginning of the game. If a dude makes this cup before any other cup it remains on the table. If a girl hits this cup as the first cup it still counts hence the term ‘bitch cup’.

 

Bitch cup counts a made cup, but is not pulled. NBA Jam heating up & on-fire rules apply.
